Rin Okumura x Reader [Chapter 2] Brilliant Flames

Blue danced around her, as did fallen trees and horrified screams of bystanders. Everything clicked. Shura-senpai's non existent report to the Vatican, Mepishto telling her to be wary of Rin Okumura. It all fell into place.

He was a demon.

Looking up, [Name] watched Okumura fight relentlessly, his ears and tail poking out from his body. He was blurry, he moved too fast for a half beast. Amaimon was simply laughing and fighting back as though he was a little kid taming a wild beast.

There was only one thing running through [Name]'s head.

In order to become paladin, this mission needs to be carried out flawlessly. Which also means: Rin Okumura must die by my sword.

Snapping out of her daze, [Name] ran deeper into the forest, her katana slicing through everything that came in front of her, no matter whether it was a branch or bunny.

I'm almost there, father! I can taste the victory. I can feel the power of a paladin. I'm so close. Are you proud mother? I'm about to be everything you ever wanted.

With a wicked laugh she slashed through a pine tree and encountered a large clearing, with tents and supplies within a magic circle.

What the hell were they doing here? Is this where they feed humans to demons?! [Name] shook her head. Stop getting your anime's confused!

[Name] ran through the clearing and jumped on top of the smallest tree, then jumping onto the next and so forth until she reached her destination. While she was getting closer to her goal she heard numerous voices calling out to the wretched demon.

[Name] growled. How dare they sympathize with the demon! Her family took pride in defeating these monsters, that was, until it turned out they were the monsters all along. No, that was just a trick of the eye, [Name]! Get your head together. Your about to become paladin.

She jumped up to join the fight when she was suddenly pushed back by an invisible force. Gazing around, she found Mephisto lazily staring at her, as though to tell her "not to get involved."

"Like hell I won't." She went to attack again when Amaimon disappeared. What happened while I wasn't looking? She thought.

Rin fell to the ground, [Name] following soon after. She landed and started twirling her katana between her fingers. This was it. This is what she was born for. As she neared him, Rin started emitting growls until his body shook.

"Hey! Wait, his a full demon now." Shura-senpai explained.

[Name] turned to face her once idol and a couple of high school students.

"W-what do you want with Rin?" A young girl with blonde hair and green eyes asked.

[Name] didn't want to entertain them with petty words. She ignored her question and faced Rin, who was now standing and staring right at her.

"Filthy demon." She spat.

Rin seemed to snap out of his demon form remarkably, his ears grew to normal and his growling ceased. Shouldn't this have been harder? What's going on? Rin blinked a few times. "Wha-wha…?" He fell to his knees and finally collapsed to the floor. A sword protruding from his chest.

"Rin!" Screamed the pack of people behind her.

It was done. She'll become everything she was destined for…Right?
